The lobster is one of the largest crustaceans in Norway and is considered a delicacy. Lobster season in Norway is from 1 October to 30 November.

The lobster likes rock piles and rock bottoms where it can find good hiding places, preferably at a depth of between 5 and 40 metres.

The Cancer pagurus is the most common crab along the Norwegian coast. It can be fished all year round, but tastes best in autumn. It uses the summer and autumn to build up its energy reserves to spawn in the spring.
